Les Grandes Eaux Nocturnes VIII: vidéo du bassin de Latone

A night view of a detail of the inner courtyard of the palace, and a bonus video of Leto fountain which I have shown you here. I love the powerful sound of the water and the background baroque music, just barely audible. Bringing water and so much pressure was a huge technical feat in the day and age of Louis the 14th.

Une vue nocturne -et très partielle- de la cour intérieure du château et en bonus, une vidéo du Bassin de Latone que je vous montrais ici. J'aime le bruit puissant de l'eau et la musique baroque en fond à peine audible. Amener l'eau et surtout la pression furent une prouesse technique énorme du temps de Louis XIV.

That first photo is just a superb composition any way you look at it! Almost spooky and yet I'd love to walk about and soak up the atmosphere!

Wow! The video was quite amazing. I had no idea the water flowed so fast and made such beautiful patterns. It was certainly a combined work of art and science . . . and fortunately in that century they became good at both. The water patterns are something else!!!
