Château : la foule/the crowd

Last weekend, I had the FIRM intention of going to the palace and taking some already overdue photos, especially as it currently hosts an exhibition which I'm told is fantastic: "court pomp and royal ceremonies". Check out what it's all about by clicking here.
The usual crowd around the palace however just made a complete coward of me again and I went for a walk elsewhere, a calm place I'll show you in the coming days.
---------------------------------------

I have a hard time with crowds, too...

Thanks for the link. That's a wonderful resource. Lois Anne will be thrilled.

Wow, there really are a lot of people visiting at Versailles.

I'm not a fan of crowds either...and Canada is big and empty which is great! I'm looking forward to pictures of your 'quiet place'.
I did see your tag yesterday...I'll get to it when my life is a little less wild! :)

We see that the exhibition runs well into the latter part of June. We are sure that you will find the perfect day to attend.

Crowds repel me too. Less is more in my book.

Les perceverants feront une nouvelle tentative...

If it's too crowded I would also cancel and settle for a photo promenade in the neighbourhood.

Tu DOIS y retourner.

I do like your style and I appreciate your talking about crowds. I think most people are hesitant when surrounded by people. I like your writing style as well.

I know this is a common sight everywhere in the world and I'm also part of that crowd when travelling, but it's so annoying when you live close to a touristic site... I understand how you feel! :-)

I am dreading that aspect of traveling to France at this time of year. I don't like the big crowds. They are always in the way of my photographs! HA
Have you found a time when the palace is not as crowded?

I know exactly how you feel about crowds. Ok but not!! You'll find a time to take some great shots. Come on up to the wilderness over here. MB

I remember those long lines. But our 6 Day Museum Pass got us to the front of the line.

This is probably a silly question, but is there any time when there are fewer people around? Perhaps you could sneak off work early? ;)

To most of you: I'm not sure there ever is a real lull. The last time I tried was on a freezing cold day in March. The queue was huge. :-(

Look at those crowds! A photo like this makes me feel glad I live in the country. ;-)
