Theme Day: Shadows

This theme day has been hard what with being away and then this last week with the weather playing foul: the sun was shining while I was at the office while it poured with rain when I wasn't! So, ladies, if you come to visit the palace, do wear sensible shoes and keep the stilettos for evenings! This photo was taken in the outer courtyard of the palace. Happy Labour Day to a lot of you out there!
-------------------------------

This is May 2009 Theme Day of City Daily Photo.

Dear Ciel!
Many thanks for the advice! For sure I will be prepared with some comfortable shoes in my try to Versailles! :-)

Great post!
Have a perfect weekend! My family and I are going to take some time out, travelling a little bit and I won't be able to visit blog's friends ( for internet reasons ). See you next week okay!
Take care!

Very nicely done, Ceil!

I probably would have seen this myself, but I was cobblestoned!

Beautiful shadows...very atmospheric. I love old cobbled pavements and courtyards...we don't have aby in Calgary!

Weather conditions often thwart our efforts. You overcame mother nature very nicely. Good advice about the footwear -:) Happy May Day!

They may be hard on the feet, but they are beautiful on the eyes. I do like the shadow and the light coming through the gate and wall.

Oui difficile de remplir le contrat dans ces conditions mais tu as réussi à capter des ombres fantômes, c'est rare les ombres bleues d'ordinaire on ne les trouve qu'en montagne !

I definitely wouldn't want to wear heels walking here! This photo is lovely - I love the bluish color. Nice job.

Love the pavement! Cool shot!

Awfully good - a glow of blue in the shade over the cobbles makes a very sublime photo.

PS:
Q: I would love to know what's at the top of the stairs.
A:This is the way up to the University Church and the Old Town.

Ciel, your advice is wise regardless of if cobblestones are what one is walking on ... although I have found that with the current financial challenges it appears high heels are more fashionable than ever ... I also found this theme a challenge and made my choice only a few hours before the deadline ... happy theme day.

Yes sometimes the sun and clouds have plans of their own! Still you captured the light nicely on these wonderful cobblestones!

Hi Ciel, you achieved a beautiful atmosphere over these great cobblestones. Thanks so much for your thoughts.

Wow, so many comments ! I don't know how you find time to keep two blogs going, and get out and comment on other blogs... I bet you wear running shoes and not high heels, as you advise against here.

In any case, thanks for all your comments, I really appreciate your visits !!! Have a great weekend ...

I love the delicate rays of sunlight bouncing off the cobbles. Very sensible advise about the shoes looking at the path.

Oh, I think this is gorgeous! So many shadows, so much texture in those old stones. Marvelous!
