Livorno Daily Photo, de passage à Paris. Comme nous sommes tous les trois assez réticents à publier nos photos, ces trois verres symbolisent une très, très agréable soirée passée ensemble hier soir !
Roy is the old French spelling for 'king', nowadays spelled 'roi'. This hotel on Avenue de Paris sports the European, French and Versailles' arms flags. For info on the Versailles arms, click on the 'Heraldry' label below.
Avenue de Paris trees are reflected in an ornate ground floor window for James' Weekend Reflections. 
There are still several instrument makers in Versailles, this one is on Général Leclerc street. Closed on Sundays of course but I actually liked the contrast between the promise within the wood -J. Brahms for me please- and the undulating iron.

One way to get around town is renting a bicycle, which can be done near the palace. Personally, I would rather die than cycle in this heat...
You don't need to cross the Big Pond to find stuff like this, just prowl around the Saturday market!
Today is the French national holiday, the day the Bastille was stormed in 1789. The French Revolution had already begun and yes, the beginning had happened in Versailles with the Estates General and the Tennis Court Oath. This stone of the former prison is kept inside Lambinet Museum. I shall be on holiday for just over a week, see you soon!

After the inevitable hat for the wedding (see yesterday's post and Saturday's wedding, which, incidentally, I did not attend), you need lots of flowers too. These delphiniums are amongst my favourite flowers, here they are at the flower market, ready to be planted. 
You may have noticed in yesterday's post that a hat is an absolute must at a Versailles wedding. This shop, in the rue des deux portes, has a wonderful choice of hats for the season.
