Bigot

Bigot boulangerie pâtisserie Versailles
This is one of the 'bestest best' baker-pâtisseries in town, close to Rive Droite train station which unfortunately isn't the station where most tourists alight from Paris trains (where they do, they are greeted by Mc Donald's, Starbucks and soon to open KFC). As you can see, there can be quite a queue at lunchtime at Bigot! VDP messed up the cake shot, sorry, her excuse is that it was a day of medical exams, but is sure you'll get the gist of things...

L'une des meilleures boulangeries-pâtisseries en ville, à côté de la gare rive droite, c'est Bigot ! VDP a raté ses photos des gâteaux avec pour seule excuse que c'était un jour d'examens médicaux et de grosse fatigue...

Macaroons on cakes. Macaroons by themselves. Macaroons everywhere! I've never seen so many. :-)

One of the things I love about France, and there are many, are the bakers, freshly baked bread all day ....wonderful..

Bilingual confusion. You know the meaning in English, of course. Is it a family name in French?

J'espère qu'une petite pâtisserie a su relever le moral des troupes.

French cakes are works of art. RWC, - clash of the titans today however I think NZ will do it, but my support will be for Argentina tomorrow. Whilst they are the underdogs they're so passionate and to have progressed this far is fantastic.

@ Bob: same meaning and yes, it's probably a family name.

I could have spent time and money in there....
Your first and last photo in this posting are my favourites.

Happy weekend!

(I hope you are feeling better and got help from your doctor.)

Glad I read the post. Bigot in English has an entirely different meaning.

There is no place more sweet and inviting than a good bakery. Fine photos. Your last pastry photo reminds me of the art work of Wayne Thiebaud who was famous for his paintings of cakes. You both use similar composition.

You are making me hungry!

Hear me out. Since you are the recipient of undesirable american fast food chains , I think the only fair and reasonable thing to do is to have Bigot open a spot in the Chalfont train station; it's the perfect compromise.

McDonalds, KFC--why do we export the worst of our culture, she asks grumpily!
