La Varenne, inventeur de saveurs à Versailles

Biscuiterie la Varenne Versailles
There's a brand new biscuits and sweets shop in town which opened this weekend and oh my goodness they are so good! Directly inspired from the table of kings with either recipes from back in the day or slightly modernised ones... Oh those ginger-lemon ones...  François Pierre La Varenne, incidentally, was the writer of the most influential cookbooks in the XVIIth century!

Hmmmm...

A ginger lemon biscuit sounds wonderful to me!
No winter coats anymore - it was 25˚C here today and very humid! All the trees are popping their leaves finally. ;-)

I can see that I would certainly over-indulge in this place. Ginger-Lemon sounds wonderful.

Almost impossible to find something like this in the US. Maybe in the biggest cities. By comparison, there is a hot dog shop in Chicago where people queue up for a block.

Oh, I'm so glad I can't reach through my computer screen and grab these. I think I'd embarrass myself with excess. These goodies look fabulous and your photos have more than done them justice.
