Although I couldn't provide specifics without some googling, isn't there a tradition in French painting of peasants working in the fields, who could be dressed in something like this?

The jacket in the last shot.. Yes, yes, yes! It's a bit like a Channel jacket, could be worn with smart jeans or dolled up to the max, j'adore..

Nice exhibit. The Qajar patterns are lovely.
Such pretty fabrics in so many patterns. I love the two patterns, inside and out of that jacket.
What amazes me is the color and details in the fabrics made 200+ years ago.
