Weekend Reflections: Louis XVI

Louis XVI Pajou musée Lambinet Versailles
This bust of king Louis XVI by Augustin Pajou was given to the city of Versailles by the king in 1790 when things had turned rather sour for him and is kept at Lambinet Museum. The king was guillotined 222 years and two days ago. More Weekend Reflections are this way! So sorry for not being able to visit your blogs yesterday, VDP was out and about until...umm... rather late!

Nice bust, nice reflection. He reminds me of a Baptist preacher I once knew. So you were out having a good time, heh? Hmm...my imagination is working overtime!

I like the reflection in the first photo, but the perspective of the floor in the second one is even better!

He has such a kind-looking face. Such a sad ending to his life!
