Me again. I was wondering if anyone would mention The Doors when I titled my post. I know Jim Morrison died and is buried in Paris. He also lived here in Tallahasse for a couple of years while attending Florida State University. There is even a photo of him after being arrested once by police here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Morrison#/image/File:JimMorrisonMugShot1963.jpg

A lovely age in many respects, if only there had been greater advances in medicine.
I just love the lighting in this place!
Yes, and they didn't have digital cameras either, poor people!
Everything was so elegant for these people back then. Ciel!
Do you suppose anyone would miss that desk if we happened to remove it from the premises?
those rolls on either end of the bed, are they bolsters?
*sigh* I do love the furniture.
Interesting room.
I can't believe actual people fit in those beds. We need to know our origins but I like my modern comforts.
Sorry, but that bed is far too small for me.
I'm sorry, it is very nice and very special but the furniture can only be described as "elegant discomfort"!
Funny comment about bagels. Really?
I could be really happy living there!

Interessant ce trumeau a meme la porte.
Quel luxe d'avoir les commodites dans la chambre! :-)
I really like these kinds of museums where you get a glimpse into life back then. Interesting series.
They certainly were advanced for their time, a lot of modern comforts in spite of it being 250+ years old.
Pas de version française ;)
Je suis d'accord avec Thérèse, les commodités dans la chambre, le must
Very cosy and atmospheric!
Beautiful details.
@ Olivier : si, si, dans le titre...
I like these rooms much more, because we can see a bit of a personal touch with this fascinating period furniture...
Modern furnishings in those times...!
Beautiful photos, Ciel !
Back and forth... I'm getting dizzy. Yes, I agree. Love what the lighting does to the ambiance of the rooms.
I love it - I feel like I'm spying on the Royals of Yesteryear.
