L'art du primeur

Goûts d'Yvelines 2014 Versailles Frédéric Jaunault
One of the most fascinating stalls at Goûts d'Yvelines was Frédéric Jaunault, master fruit and veg artist (French and European champion, no less!) Isn't this marvellous?

L'un des stands les plus fascinants à Goûts d'Yvelines était celui de Frédéric Jaunault, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, champion de France et d'Europe artistique sur fruits et légumes !

A new concept to me, and one requiring a lot of creativity.

As soon as I saw this I immediately thought of Frank Zappa's old, old song Call Any Vegetable.

At first glance, I didn't recognize these things for what they are. I mean, really, who would believe people are creative enough to carve such interesting fruits & veggies? Amazing!

Wow. Amazing. What does one do with these works of art? Eat them... let them dry up and turn brown? What a dilemma.
