These two were finding their way around Saint-Louis neighbourhood and stopped in front of this sign which VDP has been waiting to show for ages but had never had the opportunity to take a photo with a bit of ummphh to it...  Though not a hotel anymore, it still is a café (an inside shot can be seen here) just opposite Saint-Louis cathedral, seen here with this café's outside terrace. Note the old four digit phone number, which dates this to somewhere between the 1920s and1950s and the current ten digit one (but the last four numbers haven't changed!) Here's hoping VDP gets her Internet access back tomorrow !

The dome of Saint-Louis cathedral is just about visible to the right on this last shot.

The original sign really does feel quite of its time and enduring.

Modern comfort. Hmm, I wonder. :-)

There is a free app on my iPhone that translates almost anything into anything, as long as it's not too idiomatic. (You do need a cellular connection). I've been working on my French but this is definitely going to be my life boat when we're over your way.

Yes, a very nice capture.

She looks a bit stressed. Nice tile work below the sign, I'm glad they have not tried to alter it.

Being without internet is not fun. It's crazy how dependent we have become on it.
