I like these shadows on Avenue de Saint-Cloud. This is where normally the flower market is held. Not so in August. Only one stall is open, at the far end...J'aime ces ombres Avenue de Saint-Cloud. I know that the August holiday is a tradition in much of Europe but there are still things I don't understand. Years ago we were in Milan with the children in August. The tourist office gave us a list or restaurants open during the month and, of course, everyone we checked was closed. We ended up eating in the cafeteria in the department store at the Galleria.
Somebody has to stay home. Surely, many people can't afford inflated August prices. Where do they eat, where do they shop for basic needs? The month sounds like a scaled-down Ramadan.
