Sur la Columbia

Hello everyone! This is the view of the mighty Columbia river from Baked Alaska, a delicious restaurant in Astoria, Oregon, where I had the pleasure of meeting Sheryl, a.k.a Tapirgal from Astoria Daily Photo! It was a rainy and cold day on the coast, but it was a warm and delightful moment. Thank you Sheryl for your wonderful welcome! During this trip to the Pacific Northwest, I was also happy to dine with MB again (after last year's first meeting). MB posted a great shot of Saturday's moon, my photo came out terrible so you won't see it! Back to Versailles tomorrow with archive photos until I get back to normal rythm! Hope you are all well!

How nice you've gotten to meet MB! How cool! (I don't know Sheryl.) Sounds like you've had another great trip to the Pacific Northwest!

There was a song Pete Seeger used to sing about the river's hydroelectric generators:

Roll on, Columbia roll on.
Roll on, Columbia, roll on.
Your power is turning our darkness to dawn.
So roll on, Columbia, roll on.

But this looks like a dark ocean in the background.

Welcome back! Very nice you had a chance to meet (in spite of the weather). Alaskan salmon sounds delicious.

Meeting sister bloggers adds a new dimension to travels, doesn't it? :-) I've been very sporadic in my blogging so I missed your return. Trust you're happily back to home routines... or not? Going back to work can be a shock to one's system...
