Nuit des musées 2012: antichambre du grand couvert

Would you care to dine in the antechamber of the grand couvert (cutlery)? In public, of course, as did the king and queen!

Vous dînerez bien dans l'antichambre du grand couvert ? En public bien sûr, comme le roi et la reine !

Muss schon fünf Jahre her sein, dass es mit Kerzen war. Ein königliches Bild.

Den Donnerstag schön dir.

Yes please! A gorgeous place, and such a perfectly moody, broody atmosphere you've captured (again).

Were you invited for the dinner too? What a fancy spread! :)

Why yes, of course. Actually, I'd just like to dine. It's 19.30 here and Mrs. C is off somewhere.

They also dressed in public, at least with a select audience, didn't they?

WOW! I thought you'd NEVER ask. :))

It is a surprisingly small, intimate table. I would have expected them to dine with a retinue of 30 other people.

Too fancy for me but very pretty.

They must have had to watch their table manners.

I remember reading about them dining in public. Also, how the queen was surrounded by the public in some of her most private moments.

Always thought something was wrong with that picture! :-) Beautiful photo, Ciel!

I prefer something much simpler, though; especially since I'm always usually diving for cover! ;-)

It's beautiful, but I would prefer something more private:)

Chaque fois que je pense à tout ce qu'ils devaient faire en public... quelle angoisse!
