Interesting old sign. Love the arrow pointing the way..just in case customers aren't sure where the shop is located. : )

I'm a native English speaker, of course, with a halting knowledge of French. Still, it seems odd to me that your signs for these shops usually say "pressing" in English (is there a French cognate?), but that's only the secondary activity they do there. But then the dummies who run half the restaurants in this country say entrée on the menu when they should say main course or plats principaux.

Je suis affollee par l'avancee des publicites en langue anglaise... celle ci n'etant pas pourtant un bon exemple puisqu'elle existe depuis des lustres: depuis les "60"s" peut-etre meme!!

I like the old 60s sign the best, although it could use a bit of renovation. The rust doesn't help a dry cleaning shop. :-)

Peut-être effectivement que la bleue date des 60ies, vu son etat..C'est vrai ça, comment dit-on pressing en français?.. Il y avait le teinturier avant, mais ça n'est plus ça. Bonne question!
