I am sort of cheating again. This isn't a proper doorway, it's a gate. A gate that leads into a private road...
-----------------
--------------------
And yes, another award: this time from sunny and marvellous Daily Photo Barcelona, merci Rob & Mandy in 'Catalunya'!

But the private road leads to a lovely doorway. The gate is pretty nice too. So not really cheating.

Just a second to say hello and tell you I reviewed your blog and it made me feel at home. Thx also for your continued kind thoughts.

Yes, there's a doorway inside the arch, and anyway, I'm not concerned. I like gates, too.

That's quite a gate and an even better door!

Gateway, doorway, what's the diff? A very cool gate, too.

Y'all prob'ly gonna have to git yerself to Texas to git a 10-gallon Stetson fer yer haid!

Gates work for me! They swing open, they swing closed. They open to let you pass through and you can then close them. :)

It's definitely not cheating. A slight tampering, perhaps, maybe a little bending, but not cheating.

Your photos came up fine on the portal today.

We call these gated communities in the US. You have to get past a guard or have a resident ring you in. I don't like them. They are meant to isolate the residents from the riffraff of the world so they never come in contact. However, apartment buildings with doormen function the same way.

I love the doorway theme! Bravo! Some French friends of ours are moving back to France and bought a house between Versailles and Paris! Can't remember the name of their 16,000 person town.

We'll let you get away with the cheating. It's a nice gate in any case!

This is a stately entrance, befitting a place like Versailles.

Gate and a doorway too. The gate reminded me so of one at an end of a long privite road here...I'll post it soon.

There is a proper doorway inside, so what's the problem? I like both an the idea of a private street either.

It is a way in just like a door---so????

Indian file---when we were kids we used to say 'we have to line up indian file'. MB

Beautiful gate/doorway! That qualifies in my book as a doorway.

Oh my what a wonderful drive and house.

A gate, a drive and a doorway. I'd say you followed the rules. :-)

What a marvelous gate!

But it is a portal which is another word for door. So it qualifies.

It's a beautiful doorway to the property so don't let anyone tell you it isn't.
