Les poinsettias sont arrivés !

Poinsettias are waiting for you at the flower market, 8 € a large pot... They aren't my favourite flowers, yet I always like to see them at the market or in florists windows because they mean December is on its way... December, Advent and Christmas.

You will not believe this: today I've taken a photo at some poinsetias, just like these are displayed, right outside a flower shop on my way home! :-) The difference is 'mine' are the red & white variety... but I didn't like the shot and deleted it! LOL!

I haven't been out shopping much lately, but I suppose poinsettias are ubiquitous here, too. I did notice today that we have some nice ones growing in our back yard. After such a hard winter last year, I wasn't sure they'd come back...but they did!

I love pointsiettias. You can almost hear them say "Merry Christmas".

There are so many different kinds of poinsettias these days, but I still like the beautiful red ones!!

The poinsetias haven't made an appearance here yet, but they've been playing Christmas carols since before Halloween! A little too early for me. I love this plant and these are gorgeous. I guess, Tis the Season. :~)

I was surprised to already see poinsettias! I suppose we'll start to see them here after the Thanksgiving holiday!

I'd buy some for you if I could!

Christmas already!!! I suppose so if the points have arrived. When I worked at a nursery I use to propagate the sticky things. We started in June. Seems weird. MB

Are the flowers as popular in France as they are in the USA? Here, they are EVERYWHERE and, in recent years, in EVERY color!

I haven't seen Poinsettias in my area yet, but it won't be long. I like the different shades of red in your picture!.

I guess the season is here whether I'm ready for it or not! The colours of the blossoms are so vibrant that I feel a song coming on. "It's beginning to look a lot like...."

It is that time of year. I hope you have a happy holiday season, Ciel.

I love poinsettias. I probably won't buy one this year though since we'll be traveling and won't be around to enjoy it.

Et le Beaujolais nouveau aussi? Two nice marks of the season.

Thanks for the compliment on the new picture of me on the blog. I took it for an online course I'm doing on off-camera lighting technique. Quite official looking, or perhaps officious.

To answer your questions: the age of majority here is set by the states but I think it's 18 everywhere. However, the drinking age in all the states is 21, leading to some tension. Most of us find a work-around. And anybody who's seen Mafia movies should know what capisce means. That's the sense in which I used it.

@ VP: le stelle di Natale sounds so pretty! Les étoiles de Noël just doesn't sing as well!

Their red colour is really evocative of Christmas, as it should... :)
God bless you!
