I took you to Gonards cemetary recently and said that I would have to go back because I hadn't found the celebrities tombs. That was a bit of a lie, because I had actually found one:

Very nice family monument. The early history of aviation is quite interesting; something we take for granted now is how dangerous it was for those brave souls.

Yes bring back the 2CV. Many years I had a ride in one around part of the Le Mans circuit, when some of it was road. Memorable.
I find it to be such an interesting feeling to visit folks who have lived on through time in our history. Thank you for sharing all the wonderful things you share.
Now that is quite a tombstone. But look at that plane--wow--it is a wonder it could fly compared to the planes of today. Neat post. MB

Such an impressive monument. Pioneers of all kinds have my respect.
I bet that first flight was a very scary one. The Channel is known for having very iffy weather.
That is his plane?? No wonder he is a celeb.
Blériot also manufactured airplanes. The first woman to fly across la Manche, Harriet Quimby, did so in one of his airplanes in 1912.

Louis Blériot tient pourquoi à Versailles? Versailles est remplit de célébrités, belle évocation de l'aventure des hommes.
