How sad the chestnut trees are sick. They used to be very common across eastern North America but not anymore. We have HORSE chestnuts...but not the regular chestnut trees.
Oh no, that is not good. I remember being so impressed by the beautiful chestnut trees in France when I was there. It would be devastating to lose them.

Ah, that's a shame, I believe we have it here as well. I do love a picture of back lit leaves though...
I guess you know that Chestnut blight completely wiped out the chestnut trees in North America. Serious stuff.
The image is very beautiful, but it is not nice when the trees are sick.
Not good...
Die haben einfach zu warm... :)
Nettes Bild, Ciel !
This is so sad. I like yellow, but not in this case...
Oh no. Is this localized or everywhere?
@ Stuart: more or less everywhere en région parisienne, more's the pity.

The image looks nice, even with the "illness".
As a kid I collected chestnuts. Thought they were treasures. What did I know.
Oh dear. That doesn't look good for such beautiful trees, or any tree for that matter. Keep us posted on what happens next.
Sad to see, Ciel.
I was just noticing this week that our Horse Chestnut trees are looking particularly healthy this year - I hope they stay that way.
Cela me rend malade toutes ces maladies et ces disparitions dans la nature. J'eteinds de plus en plus souvent la tv quand je l'allume...
It is sad to see that these lovely leaves result from serious disease.
