At the Toile de Jouy museum there's also a modern addition to Sweetbriar castle, in which temporary exhibitions and events are held. Here we sampled both on the day of our visit as children play acted La Fontaine's fables in front of Laurence Médioni's photographic exhibition entitled 'Toiles de Jouïr", a pun as the French verb 'jouir', depending on how it is used, means enjoying or... er... blush... coming...

The young performers seem not to enjoy their little play. Not a single smile.

Interesting mix of old and new, particularly that view of the metal-framed windows overlooking the castle.

Doesn't one smile when they blush?

The 'toile' on the left (top shot) is beautiful. Also like the glass 'parafrenalia' in the bottom shot.
