We are still at Toile de Jouy museum just outside of Versailles. This is Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf's drawing-room, that has been reconstituted after a contemporary drawing. The Toile de Jouy on the walls is magnificent (though naturally not everyone would want to live in a flowered interior!)
Le salon de Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf, reconstitué d'après une œuvre contemporaine. La toile de Jouy aux murs est splendide (même si elle n'est pas au goût de tout le monde !)
Below is the royal manufacture's signature from 1792 until 1820!

I rather like the floral walls!
It's not my taste but it is beautiful!
Beautiful and very elegant!
A little Fru Fru for me.
Des toiles qui traversent le temps sans vraiment se démoder. On les retrouve aujourd’hui pas mal en papiers peints. Par contre sur les murs, pas facile a nettoyer… Du charme indéniable.
Beautifully done for its period.
If I had that on my walls I'd need a respirator.
Yeah, this is not exactly a room for those manly-men.
justement je retapisse et j'ai pas encore de rouleaux
les goûts évoluent mais le résultat est toujours intéressant
I don't think I could live with that but it is beautiful in its own way
Very flowery!
It's very 1940's!
I do like it very much Ciel.. on these walls, it could be a little trying day after day :)
BTW j'adore the carpet, I could definitely live each day with that!
Very interesting. I do like flora but not on the walls. Is that a piano or an harpsichord?
And why do they call it a "drawing" room when I don't see anyone drawing anything?
Just wondering...
It is beautiful--floral wall and all.
We be back!

What a beautiful space!
Quite elegant and surely dated, but is a pleasure to see these rooms!
@ Sharon: strangely enough, it does a bit but it's a century plus older than that!
I don't care for wallpaper, but it looks good in certain places - like here!
Our Rhubarb is up about a foot now. It is also in a raised bed bob did last fall. Strawberries on the southside of the house where we just planted the Sweet Peas. Made the raised bed there last Spring and had Strawberries until late fall. Wonderful!

Yes, a bit flowery for my tastes, but isn't that why we have museum's? That's a pretty interesting marble mantle with the cool columns.
A bit too flowery for my tastes but I have to admit it looks great in this museum!
Pas à mon goût mais cosy et sans doute confortable
