Ha! VDP found a mural! This one is located in the entrance of Jean de la Fontaine nursery school. Actually, there are several murals here, the large one and two other ones on the pillars! They all depict the greatest French fabulist whom you have encountered on VDP before, here and here! Do you recognise any of La Fontaine's fables this mural represents? More Monday Mural are this way!

That looks like a lovely piece of work, I hope lots of people enjoy it.
Visually fascinating, and definitely good for a nursery school. I don't recall ever hearing the name in association with fables, so it's likely La Fontaine's work didn't cross the ocean.
don't know if the goose that laid the golden eggs is in there or not.
So many fables. Glad you found a mural, Ciel!
When France names places after a person I think it is taken seriously. I suspect that people usually know who is being memorialized and appreciate it. In the US it's more likely a politician or philanthropist you don't know or care about.
I really like the fence.
I like the mural art. To me it looks a bit like Rudolf Steiner school art.
These are really nice. I love the softness of the painting and the muted colors.
Very dreamlike!
By the looks of it its not done with the normal paintbrush but a real painting with paint and a pensel.
Nice find.
Very nice done with the soft focus colours.
I don't know the fable but, I do like the mural!
I don't recognize any of the fables. That's a great entrance for the children, I'm sure it will make fond memories.
The gate made me think of the tortoise and the hare.. Not sure about the mural though Ciel.. do tell :)
Love the fantasy! Perfect for a nursery school.
I am glad you FINALLY found a mural and it is delightful.

I see a hare and a tortoise, but not in the mural...
Well, I do see the fox and the hare, but I'm not sure what I'm seeing in the yellow on the wall. So, what's the story?
such beautiful and magical murals and love the critters on the fencing. looks like such a charming school.
Le Lièvre et la Tortue et sur le mur ???
That is quite a mural.
The mural is pretty but the second photo really appeals to me! A red train! A bunny! Oh, it's the hare and the tortoise racing... how charming!
Well the goose that laid the golden eggs is from Aesop ancient greek born 620 BC and La Fontaine is the 17th century .
I like the dreamy quality of the mural, Ciel. It no doubt speaks to young, imaginative minds. Nice find. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
