Two pictures of the frozen pond of 'le rocher' (the rock) which was designed by landscape painter Hubert Robert and built by Richard Mique in 1783 for Marie-Antoinette's garden at Petit Trianon castle. It is currently undergoing restoration and can only be seen from the back though it is possible to approach it along this lovely heather path and then walk around it to its neighbour the Belvedere (seen here in the last pic).

Such pretty, serene shots, Ciel.
Seems like there's ice everywhere these days.
You always surprise me, more Versailles jewels! I can just imagine what it looks like on the Spring.
Looks like a secret place to me especially in winter...
Beautiful scenes!
I love that heather path, Ciel!
That looks like a very beautiful place.
ce belvédère je l'aime beaucoup et on y a une belle vue sur le jardin anglais.
Tu as joliment contourne la froidure!
Ich liebe die Erika ! :)
What a lovely area.
I remember visiting with my mum a number of years ago and there was a couple making out pretty heavily on the grass outside the Petit Trianon. I think they were somewhere in your last photo.
This looks like a lovely tranquil kind of spot
This looks like a beautiful place to walk even when there is a thin sheet of ice on the water.
A wonderful look at this part of the property. In winter, more ice would only add.
Positively enchanting!
Quite different from last days' pictures, and I like this place very much!
How on earth did we miss the rocks when we were there? Looks so pretty Ciel.
Nice you know your way around so well that you could get to it to take photos. ;)
Un sérieux air de campagne au cœur de la ville ...
