Gli amanti della rocca

Oh my how time flies, these photos are already a week old... You might remember that the whole of June is Molière month in Versailles in honour of the great playwright. There are countless venues in the city, including Montansier theatre, churches and simply... on the streets! This was in Grand Siècle neighhourhood, commedia dell'arte in Italian by Il Carro dei Comici, a funny parody of Romeo and Juliet called 'gli amanti della rocca' or the lovers of the rock/boulder! It was fantastic to hear and see in Italian! The programme of Molière month is this way!

Oh, gosh! You reminded me of an opera (yes, I use to sing opera) I sang when I was still very young and a tenor (my voice changed in college). Thanks for the walk down memory lane. :-)

You won't find this kind of thing in Ocala! I'd love to watch a comedic rendition of Romeo and Juliet, a parody as you say. Looks like these performers are very engaged in their work, too.
