The Great Commons building, right next to the palace on Avenue of the American Independence, was built by Jules Hardouin-Mansart
to house the king's staff and administration as well as army officers.
It was later used as a military hospital in the XIXth and XXth centuries. It has undergone renovation which is now almost finished! (VDP had shown it to you during renovation works here).

abritait le personnel de la cour ainsi que l'administration et des

That building's splendid to behold. The details of the exterior are exquisite, Ciel.
Ciel, the ornamentation on this building is almost unimaginable. Gorgeous!
I love all those carvings around the entrance to this building. Beautiful.
Those ice cream flavors you mentioned sound unusual and delicious!
Such intricate detail.
Fancy timepiece and nice building.
It may be renewed but it hasn't lost any of it's character. Sometimes I wonder about the decorative human features like those around the clock. Okay, the putti are traditional, but what's the face at the top supposed to represent?
The clock is wonderful! I really love the building architecture, the gate is fantastic and you prepare a great article here.
Splendid building, I like the clock!
