Apollon et les abeilles

Apollo and the bees: this is the carpet of the malachite room at Grand Trianon. Bees have always been a symbol of monarchy and in this case, of Napoléon's empire.

But for the pink cushions, this has a spooky resemblance to a Buddhist monastery.
