In February 2009 I showed you one of Versailles city centre's cinemas. Here's the other one. Every time I walk by or go there, I can't help but hum Police's hit (even though it isn't spelled the same) while thinking of the heroine of Cyrano de Bergerac (spelled the same)! Perhaps because the other cinema is called the Cyrano?

Looks like a good showing! Wikipedia says that Sting drew inspiration from a movie poster for Cyrano de Bergerac (and even that the prostitutes were in Paris) - you got right to the heart of the song!
My first thought was the Police song too!! Great shot for the day, Ciel! Hope your week is going well!!
That name always makes me think of the song by the Police!
Now I have Sting's voice in my head. I haven't been in a movie theater in ages.
Es gibt da eine Rock-Version, die ich ganz toll finde.
Einen guten Donnerstag dir.
OK, Ciel, now you have done it. We are all walking around singing Roxanne to ourselves.
It is better than the Chipmunks.
Looks like a good selection of, "you don't have to put on the red light." Darn it.
I'm totally confused. Oh, stop laughing!
I didn't even know the Versailles police had a hit. Now, if you hummed something Sinatra sang or Willie Nelson twanged, I'd know what you were talking about.
And who was the heroine of Cyrano de Bergerac? Is Cyrano the guy with the big nose who swang a sword? Swinged a sword? Swung a sword?
Have a great day. I'm going to rest my braim.
on n'entend pas trop quand tu chantes
En tous les cas la publicité pour les films est bien faite pour ce cinéma. On ne peut être plus clair.
ha, now i'm going to be singing roxanne all day!
After Lowell's comments I'm REALLY confused.
Interesting that we both posted about movies today. Looking at the posters, I only recognize 'Lincoln'. I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD, and as you know, I won't be renting it from Blockbuster. As for the song everyone is now singing in their heads (including yours truly), I went to school with not one but two girls named Roxanne when that song was popular. Can you imagine?!
Now I have Roxanne inside my head too!
Hahahahahaha! see what you've done Ciel..well at least it's a very cool song...I haven't been to the movies since I saw The Quartet!
Trying to catch on comments today. I assume the theaters are owned by the same company - can't they spell French better than I can? Don't know the song since I'm way out of touch with popular music.
Hi Ciel: Re your comment on Images - Unfortunately, the mugs were made in China. As someone said, "God made the world, everything else was made in China!" And as in so many things, the photograph makes the mugs look better than they really are! :-)
Haha... I'm sure I would do the same thing! We were in Arizona last week and I couldn't stop singing that Jacques Dutroc song "Les Cactus". I think my husband was a little annoyed. ;)
Boy you sure got people talking and humming and singing. Whew!!! MB
It really seems that Sting and The Police are more known than Rostand...
Don't know the song well enough to hum, thoughh I do know it. So my head is safe from background noise. Cyrano and Roxane cinemas. Very clever.
Cyrano and Roxane? How quaint :)
Now I am humming along, too.
