I like this shot of the chairs, tables, and leaves...wish that you would have shown the tree in a second shot so that we could see what it looks like now and how close it is to these tables and chairs...
Did you ever see the movie, "On The Beach"? It's the story of how atomic warfare ended life on earth...this photo reminds me of one scene where sailors arrive in a North America port to find no one there...just furniture and stuff strewn about. Great movie if a bit fearsome.
This is one of my favorite photos of yours! It has real character! Rather haunting.
And yes, I agree very much with your sentiments re "patriotism."
Today you convey well the idea of the end of summer and the end of this season's al fresco dining.
Your comments today were most interesting. Losing three out of four great-grandfathers in the first world war? We all know that the war took a devastating toll in human lives, but your families saw that much too close to home.
I hope you had a calm and restful day and that the weekend days will be the same.

off-season, dennoch schön !
Are the chairs just secured for the Winter?
I think those leaves look nice against the white background. Hmmm, that gives me an idea (thanks!).

Do the good people of Versailles (or the bad people of Paris) steal cafe chairs? The leaves look like they are resting on a cover of snow.

All that's missing is the hot tea oh what the heck, a glass of wine and I would be happy.
Chained up chairs, eh?
La nature a vite fait de reconquérir la place qu'on lui a prise.
Sad that someone would actually steal those chairs.
A nice autumn scene though. :)
such a wistful shot.
Versailles must be so beautiful in the fall. Very nice work, Ciel.

Magnifique scene d'automne comme je les aime. A Versaille on les attache, a Chandler on les cloute au sol!!!
Very nice picture, the best part of autumn is in those leaves...
Wonderful shot! Dead leaves are flying all around here, it's such a windy day!
That is amazingly beautiful and empty of people! Is it cold?
Autumn is so pretty where you are.
Love your beautiful images.
