A couple of weeks ago the National School of Architecture - Versailles branch held an open day for future students.

And...? Did you attend the "open day"?

It appears this was taken in the evening or when it was fairly dark outside...did they have lights on the building.

It is a truly impressive entrance which I guess is appropos for a school or architecture.

You are so funny! Practice my pedaling! Actually, I do need more practice!

A good way to engage the community. Nice design with the red banners on the yellow-ish stone wall.

Those red banners really make it pop. I hope you went inside for a while.

Was this open to the public or a members only gathering?

I like the framing in red and those huge tree trunks! Sounds like an interesting visit too.

Nice contrasts. Do all places like this have an Open doors day? I know Edinburgh does and so you're able to get into places that are normally closed to the public.

sur les photos il vaut mieux les portes fermées

I imagine my daughter Marina would love visiting this place, to feel the students atmosphere!

Well, their country certainly offers them plenty of excellent examples to study!

Cool doorway.

This is interesting. The literal translation (I believe) is 'open doors'. In the States, we would call an event like this an 'open house'. From the exterior, it looks like a terrific place to study architecture.

J'aurais aimé faire l'école du paysage de Versailles mais elle était en restructuration à mon époque > porte close.
Maintenant c'est too late for me

That's strong RED. It brings the eye to the doorway.

Those red banners almost seem Chinese, and look great on that old yellow stone wall.

Hope this beautiful building inspires the future architects to build beautiful structures!!

I like how the banners and the school name on the archway match the car parked outside. :)
