Faire le plein...

Putting petrol in your car has become somewhat of a chore due to strikes, with the prospect of a shortage looming. Long lines in front of petrol stations, some of which have no more petrol left... Yesterday I got lucky at the 5th station I tried. Just in case you are wondering, my tank was over 3/4 empty but a lot of people were paying no more than a few euros, hence the shortage...

Blogger just ate my comment. I said shortages of fuel are no fun! Our last one was due to a hurricane.

But I don't understand your last sentence. What does paying a few euros have to do with a shortage?

I was reading about the strike in the newspaper (I'm still a dinosaur in many aspects). It's very unfortunate and I hope it gets resolved soon! It's not fun hunting for petrol.

@ Jacob: people are afraid of the shortage so fill their tanks even when they wouldn't really need to.

I had no idea you guys were having this trouble. That sounds like no fun. Wish economics would get better for all of us!

This reminds «Louis» of the lines at the petrol stations when Jimmy Carter was president...

This brings back memories of a gas shortage we had in the early 1980s when it took an entire afternoon to fuel up.

Putting gas in a car is never fun, actually. :) But I admit to liking where a car can take me.

We hear about the strikes on the TV and the Radio news here in Norway. It is a problem for tourists and others too.... So we have been told not to go to France if we don`t have too.We got home from Nice the day before the strike started at the airport.
And than we hear about the reasons for the strike...
Difficult for you. Hope things will be sorted out soon.
