Today's doorway is one of several doors of the French pavilion at Petit Trianon castle in the palace grounds, which was built by Ange-Jacques Gabriel. This close-up should make T.Becque happy!

Quite impressive pavilion.
Awesome. Love the details!!
Beautiful glass doorway.
This is very beautiful. Nice photos.
French, as compared to what? I get lost in the details of architectural styles.
Oooh and it does, thank you!! Is it as small as it looks? It's so charming, grand architecture on a small scale.
And thank you for the information about the trees. How I wish I were there to see it!
It is a beautiful doorway in such an equally beautiful building. I see T.Beque is asking MORE questions. LOL We love it. MB
Beautiful! Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!!!
Heh, it makes me happy too. I agree... grand architecture on a human scale.
Lovely entrance and sweet reflections !
Léia :)
Beautiful and well proportioned, but why French pavilion? Are there some un-French pavilions?
What a lovely pavilion this is!
You win the contest. Not just Dublin but also several days in Northern Ireland and then back into the Republic. My clues could have been a bit more specific, since Seattle fits them almost as well. You probably know that for decades Guinness, the black stuff, had the slogan "Guinness is good for you."
So, if you would like a print please let me know. You don't have to limit yourself to one. I have a good photo printer. You can click the "email me" link in my profile and give me your mailing address.
@ VP: I have NO idea!
What a exquisite doorway! But I really like the roof.
A very regal looking door - but then, it is Versailles;)
The doors look very tall. What was this building used for?
Merci pour la réponse.
