Roy is the old French spelling for 'king', nowadays spelled 'roi'. This hotel on Avenue de Paris sports the European, French and Versailles' arms flags. For info on the Versailles arms, click on the 'Heraldry' label below.

Would this be The Hotel of Kings, or the King's Hotel?
I like the flags. Have you ever stayed there?
Lovely. I´d like to visit it.
Greetings from Argentina

It would be interesting to find out which kings have stayed there.
Very regal with the flags, nice capture!
It would be interesting to know if any kings have stayed there - is it that old? I like the flags - very official looking.
PS - I literally just framed a close up of the puddle and shot the reflections within it. My neighbors probably thought I was crazy!
I love the flags. I like to see flags flapping in the breeze. MB
These flags are nice. Ours are often ragged and dirty.
@ Jacob: could be both ways!
@ T. & Hilda: I don't think any kings ever stayed there. It's just that in Versailles a lot of regal names seem to pop up!
Pour que ce soit vraiment toi, il me semble qu'il manque un drapeau à rayures noires et blanches, genre.. breton! :)
Ah, Ciel, I feel as if I'm standing outside the door with my suitcase in hand, ready and eager to check in.
I love it when you include something about language. The name Roy in the US is often considered a name for a country boy...... Leroy...... another name. To look at those little kids and remember that their name really means 'king' or 'the king' puts a whole new slant on their names. Always wonder if they know what their name means!
The flags in your photo look so impressive, as if announcing the entrance.
I really like the flags! I hope they treat all their guests like royals.
Flags always dress up an entrance and these are great. Looks like another elegant building. Thanks for the heraldry link.
It must be a hotel fit for a king! The flags make the place seem even more grand :D
A royal hotel then? Cool image!
God bless you!

A Hotel fit for the Kings, eh? What about their queens?
Nice shot.
«Louis» hangs deux drapeaux français in the tent he uses at the farmers markets where he sells his coffees.
