It must be nice to live where everything is so pretty. I know I say that a lot about your photos, but they really are pretty!

By the way, school lets out late May and begins late July-early August. Is your school year very different?

I often go to farmer's markets here where I live but the displays never looks quite this inviting. it could be that French flair again for presentation..

Now this does make me a bit green with envy...it all looks so much nicer than the tasteless crud we get in our supermarkets.

Nice colorful shots, Ciel. Cheery!

ils ont de belles couleurs, vive l'OGM ;o)) c'est vrai que c'est beau un étale de fruits et légumes, cela offre de la couleur pour la journée et après ce weekend ça nous fait du bien

LD wrote what «Louis» was thinking! He really enjoyed visiting the markets in France. He often used photos he took in the markets on his now-defunct food blog.

en réponse a ton passage, non les photos de la MEGA BROCANTE sont d'hier ;))

It's always a pleasure to see these colors. Our markets are such a mess that it is usually difficult to take any kind of pictures.

Lovely pictures! English francophiles (j'en suis un) are so strange; we have really good veg shops and markets here, but we don't romanticise them in the same way as we do French ones.

Great shots, they remind me of our markets here in Normandy.

Ciel-

I love the 'magic wand' effect you've given my cursor!

Appropriate because when I'm in Versailles -It's magic!

Thank you,

I love markets like this, but there are so few remaining. There are so many colors and smells. I learned something new, thank you! I'm not familiar with "Coeur de Boeuf" and now know they are a variety of tomato.

Everything looks so delicious. Makes we want to go eat a salad.

My mouth is watering. I would not be able to pass such a display without purchasing some of those amazing tomatoes. We have a farmers market here on Saturdays. Why is food so much more appealing when you buy it outdoors rather than in a stuffy grocery store? :)

PS I also like the magic wand effect as I pass over your pictures.

Quelles belles tomates! Et que c' est bien pour ca aussi, le printemps. Au menu chez nous ce soir, tarte a l'oignon, avec une belle salade de... tomates bien sur!

@ all: these big tomatoes, called "coeur de boeuf" or "bull's heart" are among "forgotten" varieties that have lately become very fashionable. I don't know exactly how much has been dabbled with them in laboratories ;-) but they are quite tasty. Behind them are the dark tomatoes, also very fashionable.

Wow, what a nice market, those bull's hearts look amazing! I wonder if I can grow them. :)

Colourful produce. Those tomatoes are awesome.
