Aren't they gorgeous? In full bloom at the Scents Courtyard on Saturday!

Suddenly a group of American tourists walked by. VDP was astonished (and really pleasantly surprised) that they were obviously taking a guided tour of the city considering that most tourists, wherever they come from, walk from the train station to Starbucks, to the palace, to McDonald's and back to the train station, having thus sampled some French gastronomy! Yes, that is an ever so slightly ironic statement. Unfortunately, the information they were given here was incorrect, the scents courtyard wasn't built this year but in 2013!

And... Saturday evening, VDP had the huge pleasure of meeting Walla Walla Daily Photo! It was a fantastic evening of chatting over dinner that ended under the Eiffel Tower! It was absolutely great to see you!

  2. Never much fun with guides that make mistakes, but I guess we have all done that.

  5. Any American who thinks that a stop at the Versailles McDonalds is a taste of French gastronomy is, well, too dumb to be admitted to your country.

  13. I can only remember going to McD ONCE on my travels: after a couple of weeks in India I really needed to make a break on hot spicy food! And that was it. :-)

  16. I'm still getting over the shock that there even IS a McDonald's in Versailles Ciel, quel horreur! Meanwhile the iris are divine.

  17. These are great iris photos. The scent garden not only smells great, it looks good too.

Don't know how you put up with tourists and their odd behavior. Just remember, there are good people everywhere.
