L'écurie en bleu

Dioscure Versailles Galerie Sculptures Moulages
VDP's last stop for the European Night of Museums last weekend was the Gallery of Sculptures and Casts located in the small king's stables and housing casts from the Louvre museum and original sculptures of the palace gardens. VDP had already shown you the place (see statues and casts here) but returned simply because she loves those stable arches and they were lit in blue for the evening! For info about the huge Dioscuri cast click here!

  8. Just to see the color-lit arches, without the sculptures, would have been enough. Beautiful.

  9. This is a place I can love, for the sculptures and also for the place itself... A bit like the Bargello museum in Florence.
