We have some brand new shops in town. Do you remember the former royal hospital? You can click on the 'hôpital Richaud' label below or here and here for shortcuts to see the sorry state the gorgeous building was in for years and years until in 2010 or 2011, it was decided that it would be transformed into luxury flats. As it happens, right next to it, there are now brand new shops that were officially opened on 6 March. VDP went to have a look on the 7th and... well... there was quite a lot happening as you can see!
The horses seem to take it all in stride. And it takes a great deal of skill to walk on stilts!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love the red hats. It is always nice to see a revitalization going on. It seems to be happening here as well.
ReplyDeleteIf I tried that I would be on the ground in no time.
ReplyDeleteChefs on stilts. What's not to like?
ReplyDeleteWe see lots of older buildings converted into flats (condo) but our older buildings are not quit so grand .. Your first photo gave me a smile
ReplyDeleteThose are very tall chefs parading around town. Looks like a lot of fun going on there at the new shops.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like an interesting scene though I can't imagine trying to do anything on stilts. The horses look very calm and sweet. I just want to rub their soft noses.
ReplyDeletequand on se souviens de l'état de cet hôpital...quels changements !
ReplyDeleteA grand opening indeed, looks like you have made some new horsey friends too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like quite the fancy opening party! Hope the place is equal to all the spectacle.
ReplyDeleteA great way to advertise the opening of the shops!
ReplyDeletePerfect old building for luxury flats, bet they'll be very elegant Ciel.. Just look at those handsome Clydesdale's.. Hectic celebrations there :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you went to check it out. Such beautiful horses, and general merriment.
ReplyDeleteYes, quite the fanfare. I hope they are still working on converting the hospital, that seems like a great reuse of that beautiful building.
ReplyDeleteThe red hats are back!! Of course I do love the horses.
ReplyDeleteMB
