Sortez les moufles

It's getting colder by the day, with near freezing temperatures at night (4° C last night, freezing point being 0°)... Even the scouts are back in tights (is it 'stockings' for you over the Big Pond?)
-----------------------------
Prévisions météo : de plus en plus frais. Et carrément froid la nuit ! Même les scouts ont ressorti les collants !

  1. Not only is she wearing tights, she's got heavy socks on too. It must be cold. Makes you wonder why bother wearing shorts. Time to bring out the long pants, for sure.

  3. We're flirting in the 7-10C range, but not 0, yet. Soon. We typically get around a night or two in October that chilly, definitely in November. I see runners in these funky, stretchy pants thingys, but no tights.

  4. I'm not sure what to call them. In fact, I try not to think about them.

We usually don't need them in Florida anyway. Our nights have cooled off nicely - down to the mid-50s (F). And they days are nice and warm - mid-80s. Bright sunshine. I like it.

And, if you'd come here instead of the PNW, you'd know what I'm talking about! :-)

  5. I will leave it to the women to figure out what to call the clothes. In New England, the nights are approaching freezing, but the days are wonderful (around 65 degrees F today with blue skies).

  7. We're getting cooler in the mornings here in Portland, which I really like. I also like "The Lion King;" I see the poster there in the distance. Nice post all the way round.

  9. Brrr, that looks cold! It's funny because a couple of years ago it was "tights" but now we call them "stockings," but nothing is different...no one can understand fashion :-D

  10. Monterey has one essential temperature: fog. But I can experience the seasons vicariously through great photos like this.

  14. I always like weather-related pictures: they are, sometimes, so peculiar to the place.

  18. Yup, we call them 'tights', too. Cold here in Vermont, also. We brought in our green tomatoes before the frost bit into them and I fried some of them up last night. Yummm.

  19. I like to see the young dress sensibly! :) We've had frost here.

  20. The night time temperature is close to 0C but the flowers are still blooming so no frost yet!

That photo is a nice way to show the progression of the seasons.

  22. Stockings are those pantyhose things that only come up to your thighs. These would definitely qualify as tights to Americans.

Our weather has been cooler, but not as cool as yours. It's perfect for golfing!

  23. It would be rather difficult to ride a bicycle through traffic with all that stuff she is carrying.

  24. Doesn't matter much about the name. They have been called both here. At least she is warmed by them.

  25. I must be in the warmest spot of the lot here today. A wonderful 32C during the day and a comfortable 28C at night. No tights, stocking, socks or leggings needed. Ever.

  26. we are getting freezing temps as well and lovely days. I like the light in this photo. Tights are often the thick warm ones, stockings more the shear lady like ones, though I think we use both words both ways.

  27. Oh my. So cold already? We had three very humid and warm days but this evening the north west wind is blowing and that always means cooler temperatures.
