Wednesday Doorway: le palais de justice

Today's doorway is the palais de justice, i.e. the civil and penal courthouse and I've just realized that the picture isn't straight... Don't assume that I had had one too many...!

  2. Maybe two too many? ;-)

It's a beautiful entryway while at the same time somewhat forboding - especially to those who are facing charges of some kind...

  3. That could add a new dimension to photography (having one too many)! It's nice that even your buildings for bad guys are pretty.

And yes I suppose I did "ask for it" by posting my title in French! I had to resort to Yahoo translator!

  6. This may be quite symbolic for a court of justice. Don't worry, I think the rotate command is the one I use more often processing my pictures... even when sober!

  7. Beautiful facade. Don't worry. I think everyone takes a crooked photo every now and then.

Another lovely doorway with blue of course.
Love the beautiful wisteria. I looked at all I missed. I like the wrought iron window covers in one shot. MB

  13. Another beautiful doorway. One thing I love about Picasa is you can straighten your photos. It's amazing how many crooked shots I end up with!

  14. You did a great job on this exposure, Ciel, retaining the color in the sky with the bright leaves and dark door. Well done!

  15. The door looks dark and foreboding, yet the window above is bright and cheery - interesting contrast.

  16. It's a lovely shot. And, of course digital cameras have a mind of their own as far as skewing the angles. I don't remember this issue with my old SLRs.

Re: The fish sculpture and the car. Like so many photographable things in Astoria, it's hard to get a good background. I had fun with the Doughboy Statue on my other blog one day. I don't know if you saw this:

  19. What a fabulous courthouse building, it's looks like a lens issue rather than a too much rouge issue!!
