Je m'en vais tout de suite...
I'm sure Vogon Poet will know immediately what I'm trying to say here. People park even in the least likely places, however hard the city tries to stop them, they will always find a nook to "stop for a minute".
Love it! That's one of the things that fascinated me about Paris! People parked everywhere! Some streets were completely blocked off by cars...no one get in or out!
In the US a tow truck would be there toute de suite to take your car away. Plus you'd get a hefty fine from the city. But we also have more of a "car-friendly" attitude.
I know what you mean with this post. Today for example, I was nearly hit in the pedestrians path at the street.I was distracted and I was walking normally when the driver with was parking on the sidewalk and the driver still gave me that angry look as if I were to blame for walking of pedestrians way! You must have patience my friend! Today I almost lost my!
@ VP: are you amongst them? ;-) I'm too disciplined (must be my German half) I drive around for ages until I find a REAL parking place. Sometimes I give up... and come back with the bus!
Thank you for visiting and leaving a thought! Sorry about the moderation, a bit tired of spam at the moment!
Merci de votre visite très appréciée et de laisser une pensée ! Désolée de devoir modérer vos commentaires, VDP en a un peu marre des spammeurs en ce moment !
Oh, yes! Here it would be “Vado via subito...”, one of the most common lies in the everyday life of an Italian/French motorist!

ReplyDeleteIt certainly helps having a small car.
ReplyDeleteAnd the cars are not getting smaller!!
ReplyDeleteHardly possible here without getting one big fat ticket.
ReplyDeleteI see that the no parking signs there are merely a suggestion as they are here!:)
ReplyDeleteJacob took the words right out of my mouth/keyboard.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at parking in small spaces. I have the parking tickets to prove it.
ReplyDeletedépêche toi avant l'arrivée des pervenches ;o))

I hate to say it, but, that car would be seriously scarred if they tried that here.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Ciel!
ReplyDeleteChacun cherche sa place dans la ville. L'automobiliste se transforme en piéton.....et râle pour deux....C'est la vie....

Tight Niches. Its like having dirt in one's pores. Spaciousness feels good.

ReplyDeleteYou should try to park here in the summer. Ridiculous. Even worse is the folks driving hummers on our very narrow streets.

I think all cities are like this but the worst city I have seen is Rio de Janeiro, the parking is really crazy there...!!
