A side entrance of the royal stables.

  1. An intriguing sight even for a republican like moi. I spy with my little eye - a bike! What else is there to discover?

  2. May I add to Per's comment: get rid of that awful no parking sign! Lovely doorway almost out of time!

  4. You've shown the stables before and I checked them out somewhere (can't remember where, though) and I thought they were wonderful.

This side door looks a bit bedraggled, though, and neglected.

I thought it was the entrance to a tomb.

Well, I was dying to say that!

  9. I like the face above the door. At least there is art with architecture and not sterile stuff like so much building of today

  12. Beautiful portes! I love the sun and the green. At least it's finally sunny here today in Berlin. Green... not so much.

  14. I think it's so cool that you've been all around the grounds of the palace, even to the royal stables. It's almost as if you know the place as well as Marie-Antoinette!

  15. Oh, my. That is gorgeous! And inviting. I think I could curl up in the hay near the horses and live there with them. BTW, funny, you were the first to comment on my second Lewis and Clark post. It must be fate. There will be more :)

  16. P.S. The lighting on those trees, including the trunk, is superb. I think that for a number of reasons this is one of my all-time favorites of Versailles.
