I think it's so cool that you've been all around the grounds of the palace, even to the royal stables. It's almost as if you know the place as well as Marie-Antoinette!
Oh, my. That is gorgeous! And inviting. I think I could curl up in the hay near the horses and live there with them. BTW, funny, you were the first to comment on my second Lewis and Clark post. It must be fate. There will be more :)
P.S. The lighting on those trees, including the trunk, is superb. I think that for a number of reasons this is one of my all-time favorites of Versailles.
Thank you for visiting and leaving a thought! Sorry about the moderation, a bit tired of spam at the moment!
Merci de votre visite très appréciée et de laisser une pensée ! Désolée de devoir modérer vos commentaires, VDP en a un peu marre des spammeurs en ce moment !
An intriguing sight even for a republican like moi. I spy with my little eye - a bike! What else is there to discover?
ReplyDeleteMay I add to Per's comment: get rid of that awful no parking sign! Lovely doorway almost out of time!
ReplyDeleteA grand entrance for this stable.
ReplyDeleteYou've shown the stables before and I checked them out somewhere (can't remember where, though) and I thought they were wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis side door looks a bit bedraggled, though, and neglected.
I thought it was the entrance to a tomb.
Well, I was dying to say that!
Un tres beau cadrage sur cette entree.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great old door. It makes me wonder how many horses and riders haave gone through over the years.
ReplyDeleteLe panneau d'interdiction gache un peu le "Paysage"!!
ReplyDeleteOh! I enjoyed the design of the door!
ReplyDeleteI like the face above the door. At least there is art with architecture and not sterile stuff like so much building of today
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that door could tell a few stories.....secret assignations in the stables!!!!!
ReplyDeletemaintenant à la place des chevaux, on rentre des bicyclettes ;o)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portes! I love the sun and the green. At least it's finally sunny here today in Berlin. Green... not so much.
ReplyDeleteAnother great image from an incredible place.

ReplyDeleteFor a side entrance to stables it is pretty grand indeed.
ReplyDeleteVersailles reste une ville de musée en permanence.
ReplyDeleteCharming photograph, Ciel. You have such a good eye.
