L'hôtel particulier de Madame Du Barry

As promised the day before yesterday, a little more about Madame Du Barry who was one of King Louis the 15th's mistresses. Jeanne Du Barry became a refined patron of the arts and survived the king only to be guillotined during the French Revolution. More about her by clicking here. This was her house on the Avenue de Paris, built in 1751 and acquired by the lady in 1772. After the king's death, it was used by Louis the 16th's brother, count of Provence. It is now the seat of the Val d'Oise-Yvelines Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
