A l'intérieur du palais des congrès

Cour des métiers d'art Versailles 2015 palais des congrès
On Saturday, VDP was supposed to go to several events and take a guided tour but everything was cancelled due to the post 13 November terror attacks emergency state declaration. One event, however, being a private one, was actually held: the local art crafts show with jewellery and porcelain makers, painting and furniture restorers, sculptors, stained glass makers, fashion designers...so much talent! Previous editions had been held at the town hall (see 2011 here) but this time the venue was Versailles' convention centre which you had seen in this post. VDP had never yet set foot inside the building, which was built in 1964 and was the first convention centre to be constructed in France ! It was rather difficult to take photos of the inside architecture but VDP tried...

  1. ...and you succeeded! Well done...that's quite some ceiling light in the first picture and I love the 'mural' in panels by the stairs...I'm glad you went out on Saturday :)

  3. It looks like it was busy. From the architecture here the place looks visually appealing.

  6. It is a beautiful venue for art. I have been posting a lot this week about our local art scene, too, and will be returning to it tomorrow. It amazes me how creative people are all over the world.

  10. This is a relatively young building in Versailles architecture hey Ciel but it has been designed beautifully. You should see our convention centre, functional but very plain :)

  12. It looks like a beautiful building and very fitting for your historic city. I hope the vendors did well. I'm betting there weren't as many people visiting as they might have hoped.

  13. It looks like an interesting building and reminds me of some movie theaters of the same period...

  14. It's good to see there were still some people out and about. If we all stay indoors and in fear, we let them win.
