Applaudissements !

Trees Petit Trianon Versailles
Doesn't this look like a stage performance? Two artists bowing while the public applauds? Seen in the park of Petit Trianon castle in the palace grounds. Would anyone enlighten VDP as to what these are?

  1. No idea, but I like the tangled twists of their trunks.

  2. I would fathom guess that they are from the 'funkalicious' genus. Very unusual.

P.S. if you are not familiar with the term 'funkalicious' it means "When a person or object is full of funk."

  7. I noticed the tutu also. And the one to the right is clearly taking a well-deserved bow.

  8. Fascinating! Do you suppose the trees were trained to grow that way? Just wondering.

  12. I see I'm not the only one who sees a big skirt or tutu on that one in the top photo. I love all the gnarled and twisted branches.

  13. Two misshapen trees.
Are they better 'lookers' in blossom?

  20. I do agree these wonderful trees do evoke an image but to me as soon as I saw the first image I thought of dancing with abandon :) could they be weeping willows?

  21. These are amazing trees! There are some types of willows that grow twisted branches like this and the long, trailing branches look willow-like, too. Gorgeous trees!
