I have always like weather vanes and this is an intricate and interesting one. Of course, it helps that it is on top of such a fine, distinguished building. Wonder why I don't have a weather vane on top of my house? I'll check.
Your comment on Sharon's site is correct. Yazzie is a Native American name. More specifically, it is a Navajo name. The Navajos are the larges Native American tribe int he Southwest, and probably in the entire country.
Original weathervanes are the perfect toppers (sic!) to fine houses. Regrettably, I don't have one on either of my houses, but I do have a horse weathervane that once was on top of a barn on the property where I grew up.

ReplyDeleteIt is nice and so is the architecture.
ReplyDeleteAnother work added to my French vocabulary, but will I use it?
ReplyDeleteVery grand!
ReplyDeleteYou need to go back there during a lightning storm, it could be a spectacular photo!
ReplyDeleteWay nicer than the one on my shed of a Labrador retriever. Pretty fancy lightning rods too.
ReplyDeleteThe kind of detail I like very much, and a name I won't forget!

ReplyDeleteMost interesting roof and weather vanes. Good shots.

ReplyDeleteA very nice weather vane Ciel.. atop an equally nice house!
