These are water towers, located on the edge of Versailles and Parc de la Porte Verte. The one above is two years younger than my grandmother would have been!
Ces réservoirs sont situés le long du parc de la Porte Verte. Celui ci-dessus a deux ans de moins que n'aurait eu ma grand-mère !
Much more appealing than the water tower I was used to in the nearest town where I grew up!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with William, this is definitely more appealing than what I grew up with as well!! Great captures as always, Ciel!!
ReplyDeleteThey look so unusual, Ciel!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to agree with William also. The ones I saw when I was growing up were not nearly as attractive as these.
ReplyDeleteThey are classic looking, nice.
ReplyDeleteThese are interesting structures.
ReplyDeleteThey are quite beautiful! I really like those shadows in the first shot.
ReplyDeleteInteresting looking towers.
ReplyDeletethey are so different than ours...i really like the stone work...they are so small also!
ReplyDeleteWhat great finds. European water towers are so much cooler than N. American ones. They really do look like chateaux!
ReplyDeleteVery elegant looking water towers... I love the cool, shady looking entrance to number 1!
ReplyDeleteI agree heartily with William that these are much nicer than water towers here in central Canada.
ReplyDeleteil est très beau et change un peu du style grisouillet
ReplyDeleteThey don't look like any water tower I've seen before. In fact, the one in the first picture looks like a house with an address and a door! Love all that brick. Do they still serve to provide water for the city.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, there are lots of alligators in those waters. You'll see that in the next couple of days! :)
I was thinking it was an entrance to a funky house, I'd have never guessed a water tower.
ReplyDeleteI am quite fond of these châteaux d'eau and I always take pictures of them. These two are quite interesting and I like the balcony around.
ReplyDeleteInteressante Wasserspeicher, Ciel, bei uns sind sie alle unter der Erde...
ReplyDeleteI find the water towers in France so fascinating. They not only serve a purpose, but they often look very cool.
ReplyDeleteInteresting stonework in there.
ReplyDeleteWithout doubt the sweetest water towers I've seen Ciel.. but then again they are in Versailles :)
