Adjacent to the restaurant 'la petite Venise' which VDP was showing you yesterday, housed in the same long stable, is the very charming 'boutique des jardins de Versailles' or Versailles gardens shop. I think this gives a better idea of what the building once was! They have a very nice book selection! Note to VP: the bench is up for grabs!
Such a neat old building. Looks like a place my girls would like to explore.
ReplyDeleteI know Lois Anne would love this garden boutique. Heck, I would, too! Lots of wonderful things to look at and buy!
ReplyDeleteRe your question on The Villages: It's a mini-stadium as the area is used for concerts and special programs. I think they did this to be a bit different than the other hometowns.
Also re the Ziosk: Maybe I wasn't clear but using the thing is optional and the wait staff still waits on you. It does offer a quick way to pay your bill and be gone, though. :)
Ah, I would love to spend time there, too!! Lowell is right, lots of wonderful things to look at and buy!! Great captures, too!! Hope your weekend is going well, Ciel!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite beautiful inside. What strikes me is how much light comes into the space.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful proportions, muted colours and light. I have yet to visit Versailles (even though I've been to and absolutely love Vaux-le-Vicomte), but since following your blog we've decided that it's on our must do list this June. Warm regards
ReplyDeleteGreat looking garden shop.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful looking place to visit, I love the sunlight spilling into it too!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, you can really see the stable look inside this little shop. Another fun place to visit.
ReplyDeleteThe books could keep me occupied for a while. Like the roof line above too.
ReplyDeleteYes the long rooms and cobbled floor gives a really good sense of how it must have been, nice work Ciel.
ReplyDeleteJust the perfect kind of space for such a gift shop!
ReplyDeleteVery rustic with the awesome exposed beams and stone floor.
ReplyDeleteNow this place is asking me to stay awhile. And I would. MB
ReplyDeleteGreetings again. Re the river: the corrrect name is "Suwannee," not "Swannee." Y'all be shore to rite thet down somewhere, OK? :)
ReplyDeleteLove this place, consider the bench grabbed...
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what they have done to the place.
ReplyDeleteLove the architecture of this place!
