Louis probably had more legroom and a bottle of champagne always close at hand. Still, we'd use this if visit the palace during our late-summer visit. We always seem to get lost between the palace and the RER station.
I will visit Versailles next time I go to Paris. Last time I arrived by train..... and that is so many years ago, so I guess I should go for a good look around some of the places you have showed us.
@ Perth: ah... excellent question! It would depend on traffic of course but I imagine that going from the Eiffel Tower to the palace shouldn't take more than about 30 minutes if you aren't stuck in a traffic jam.

Love that pictures on that bus. I would imagine it offers many luxury accoutrements to the hoity-toity traveler of which I wish I was one.

Hard to imagine the Sun King on this bus. On the other hand, he would probably appreciate the heat and air conditioning.
