Phew! Found another mural in Versailles to take part in
Monday Mural! This is actually a mosaic (so VDP is sort of cheating once again). This is Pierre de Nolhac college (secondary school, from ages apprx. 10-11 to 14-15).
Pierre de Nolhac, historian and poet, was once curator of Versailles palace and played an important part in preserving and maintaining the palace.

Reminds me of the set theory I learned in school. So, let me get this straight. Some--but not all--mosaics are murals. and some--but not all--murals are mosaics. This is about when the teacher would ask us all to draw a diagram. ARGHH!!

Great use of color.
ReplyDeleteI like it. A bit of a cross, a bit of a medical caduceus, a climbing plant. All these elements make the clock surprising.

ReplyDeleteA mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall (wikipedia). So this is not cheating :)

Love this mosaic. Goodness there are some talented and patient artists out there.
