Well... A little over two weeks ago the first bright yellow pretties appeared on Avenue de Paris. Last Saturday, they were definitely out. VDP still thinks it's a bit too early... To see the avenue daffs since 2009, click here! Oh, and that's the palace in the first two shots of course.
Eh bien...
Wow! We're just getting our first good stretch of above freezing temps without snow in the forecast. But surely the daffodils can't be far behind now.
ReplyDeleteI love, love that warm yellow and the promise it holds!! Lovely captures for the day, Ciel! Thanks for brightening this GRAY/WET afternoon!!!
ReplyDeleteThey're lovely, Ciel!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be awhile before we see them here!
I'm green with envy! We got more snow this morning.
ReplyDeleteOh how I long to see little yellow pretties here too! We too got more snow early today (OK, cocoa and a roaring fire aren't bad, so long as spring is near:)
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived up north, the first appearances of crocuses made me smile and the first appearances of jonquils/daffodils/narcissus med me grin from ear to ear.
ReplyDeleteGuten Tag. Wie geht es Ihnen?
Now I have exhausted the Deutsch I can remember from high school. Although I can still sing Stille Nacht and O Tannenbaum.
Now that would make for a cheerful day.
ReplyDeleteSo soon? We have nothing, but your winter has been much warmer.
ReplyDeleteLets hope they last until St. Davids day. Should be a win for France on Friday!
ReplyDeleteSuper, tu peux comparer et nous on peut admirer...
ReplyDeleteI have to wander what is going to happen to all our budding and blossoming friends when the cold weather arrives... if it ever does.
ReplyDeleteA 'golden' carpet, very cheering!
ReplyDeleteJ'adore the jonquils Ciel.. the Palace in the background is the icing on the cake for this shot.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fortunate to be living in such a beautiful place. Love all the pics but the first two with the palace are super nice and so evocative of what a treasure the palace is. Avenue de Paris is one of a kind! How can it be too early for yellow daffs?
ReplyDeleteje cherchais les têtes jaunes dans les passants :-)
ReplyDeleteohhhh these pictures make me very happy!!! i love the first one especially, looks like a painting!
ReplyDeleteYou lift my spirits a bit this morning.
ReplyDeleteMid-February may effectively be a bit too early: I see a lot of winter clothes still around...
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy isn't it? Over here I think that the tip of the wheat is started to turn golden. I might be mistaken but I don't think so. Our winter, if we can call it that, has been too short.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shot of Spring, it's much needed.
ReplyDeleteWe still have 30cm of snow covering the ground!!
Oh my! That does seem a bit early! We had freezing rain, then snow this past Friday/Saturday and again Monday. Now today, Thursday, we are to reach 60 degrees F! No doubt there will be severe storms involved. Well, enjoy those beautiful flowers for me. :-)
ReplyDelete~Lindy
It is pretty!
ReplyDeleteI guess we have to wait a bit longer...
