February already! Those of you who have been following VDP for a while might remember the Young Old Timer Club. For the third year, those youngsters organised a night race of old and vintage cars on 25 January and VDP attended part of the afternoon registration process on Avenue de Paris. Amongst them was this BNC (Bollack, Netter et Compagnie), a French car builder of the 1920s, the first one to register for the 'nocturnal' (la nocturne). Does it qualify for 'entry'? If you would like to see the 2012 cars, click here. To see more 2014 cars, it's this way. Wishing you a fantastic new month! Click here to view all participants in the CDP Theme Day! And thank you for all your marvellous comments yesterday!
VDP has no clue what this black car was.
VDP n'a aucune idée de ce qu'était cette voiture noire.
LOVE you interpretation of Entry! Mine isn't scheduled to post for a few hours yet. ;))
ReplyDeleteok, yours is the first theme post i've visited but i'm pretty sure it's going to be my favorite! love it!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of BNC which isn't surprising. Looks like an old touring car and just the thing for those folks standing around it! What a fun event this must be.
ReplyDeleteThe word, "entry," has several definitions, so you're right on target! Happy Feb. 1!
Qualify? Of course. Am I 'registering envy' ? You betcha!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a fun event indeed, Ciel! Love the old cars and period clothes!! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to dress up like that and tour around in such a car!
ReplyDeleteIt's a word with several interpretations, so this qualifies.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful cars!
I love the wonderful interpretations of our theme each month. Bravo!

I love that second image with the people all dressed up around the wonderful old car.
ReplyDeleteI thought of the "registration" meaning of "entry," but couldn't think of how that would translate into a photo. Well done.
Bien vu!
ReplyDeleteThe costumes are as fun to see as the vintage cars.
ReplyDeleteNice ENTRY for Theme Day. Nice way to start the blog's 6th year.
SUPERB choice of ENTRY for the theme day image.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you and yours.
Wonderful looking old vehicles, wouldn't want to be driving around with the roof down at the moment though... it's freezing!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation ! I love these old cars. You got some excellent captures of them !
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Ciel.. an 'entry' into a genteel, elegant world.. even if it is only for a certain period :)
ReplyDeleteVery creative choice.
ReplyDeleteI had to travel on business yesterday and missed your 5th anniversary of daily photo blogging. Congratulations. You have made many people aware that Versailles is much more than a palace.
Looks like a perfect 'Entry' for the theme.
ReplyDeleteGood for you

I like your address to the court even more than the beautiful images!
ReplyDeleteclever!
ReplyDeleteThinking outside the box, as they say. Sure, it's an entry. I need a cravat like that.
ReplyDeleteVery creative theme day photos.
ReplyDeleteYours was the most unique take on the word "entry." Kudos.
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks like fun! And a very creative interpretation of the theme day!
ReplyDeletesuperbe ces vieilles voitures, cela me fait rever
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea on how to approach theme day topic. Fun photo too! PS Now I am going to see what you posted yesterday :).
ReplyDeleteA beautiful entry - well more than one, even!
ReplyDeleteA lovely interpretation of "entry!" And a very elegant one at that! These cars look like fun but I'll bet our ordinary cars of today are far more comfortable...and safe.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an entry, and I would have loved to see it run! Congratulations on five years of VDP. I aspire to make that mark and applaud you for your beautiful photos of Versailles.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
